Description

The API Nitrite Test Kit helps you monitor nitrite levels in your aquarium. Nitrite forms as part of the natural nitrogen cycle, when beneficial bacteria break down ammonia from fish waste and uneaten food. Even low levels can stress fish, and high levels are harmful, affecting their ability to take in oxygen.

This kit reads nitrite from 0 to 5 ppm and suits both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. It’s especially useful when cycling a new tank, after adding new fish or when troubleshooting water problems. With 180 tests per kit, it’s an economical choice for regular monitoring.

Key Features

  • Measures Nitrite: Reads levels from 0 to 5 ppm
  • Fresh and Saltwater: Suitable for both water types
  • Cycling Essential: Track nitrite as your new tank’s biological filter establishes
  • 180 Tests: Economical for regular monitoring
  • Simple Test: One test solution for quick, easy testing

What’s Included

  • 1 test solution
  • 1 glass test tube with cap
  • 1 colour chart
  • Easy-to-read instructions

How to Use

  1. Fill the clean test tube to the marked line with aquarium water.
  2. Add the test solution as directed in the included instructions, then cap and shake.
  3. Wait the recommended time for the colour to develop.
