Description

Black Spot Heat Lamp

Keep your reptile warm around the clock with a Black Spot Heat Lamp. This night-time heat bulb produces a focused beam of heat to create a warm basking zone, while its dark black glass keeps visible light to a minimum, so it's ideal for night heating.

Focused heat where it's needed

The spot design directs heat onto one area of the enclosure, creating a warm zone at one end and a cooler zone at the other. This lets your reptile move between them to regulate its own body temperature, just as it would in the wild.

Designed for night-time use

The black glass gives off only a soft, low glow, designed to minimise light disruption at night. You can still keep temperatures up after dark, and even watch the natural behaviour of nocturnal species without switching on bright lights.

Key Features

  • Focused Heat: Spot beam creates a warm basking zone.
  • Low-Glow Black Glass: Minimal visible light for night-time heating.
  • Temperature Gradient: Helps create warm and cool zones in the enclosure.
  • Night Viewing: Soft glow lets you observe nocturnal behaviour.
  • 24-Hour Heat Option: Suitable for use day or night as part of your heating set-up.

Suitable For: Reptiles and amphibians that need supplemental heat at night, such as geckos, snakes, bearded dragons and other warm-climate species.

Fixture Required Ceramic (porcelain) socket rated for the bulb's wattage

How to Use

  1. Screw the lamp into a ceramic (porcelain) socket fixture rated for the bulb's wattage. Never use a plastic socket.
  2. Position it above the enclosure, or inside a protective cage, over one end to create a basking zone.
  3. Connect it to a thermostat to control the temperature.
  4. Check temperatures at the warm and cool ends with a thermometer, and adjust as needed.

⚠️ Please note: Heat lamps get extremely hot during use and stay hot after switching off, so allow the bulb to cool completely before handling. Always use a lamp guard, or mount the bulb out of your animal's reach, to prevent burns. Keep the bulb away from water and misting, as cold water on a hot bulb can cause it to shatter. Switch off and unplug before installing or removing.

💡 Tip: Use the black spot heat lamp at night and a daytime basking or UVB lamp during the day for a natural day and night cycle.
